Contest launched to find digital transformation solutions for 10 areas

On June 10, the Ministry of Information and Communications in collaboration with Viettel Group launched for the third time a competition called Viet Solutions 2021 to find solutions to promote national digital transformation.

Viet Solutions 2021 has the message "Resonance to create a digital society". Target audiences are individuals and organizations living, studying and working in all countries around the world.

A special feature of this year's season is that it will look for ideas and technology products focusing on 10 areas: healthcare, education, finance - banking, agriculture, transportation - logistics, energy, natural resources - environment, industrial production, entertainment solutions - utilities and business management. The problems have been posted at www.vietsolutions.net.vn.

According to the organizing board, the preliminary round will take place from May 15 to August 15 in the form of online submissions.

The qualifying round will take place from September 6 to September 18 with many rounds such as Elevator Pitch, Camping Days and Demo Day.

The final round is scheduled to take place on September 20. All 30 teams that participated in the qualifying round will appear in the final round. Five teams will present their projects in front of the jury and the audience.

The organizers of Viet Solutions 2021 said that the total prize value this year will be three times higher than the previous year. In addition, the participating teams will have the opportunity to do business with Viettel and share profits of up to 75%.

The best teams in the qualifying round will be trained to improve their startup skills by experts from universities such as Harvard, the International Angel Fund, and many famous CEOs.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Huy Dung said: “In fact, there are many problems that just need a right idea to have the right solution. It's like when you ask the right question, there's bound to be an answer. If there is a right question, despite how difficult it is, there will be someone to have the right answer for it. That is the idea for finding new ideas about digital solutions for this year's competition."

Le Dang Dung, Acting Chairman of Viettel Group, said the Ministry of Information and Communications creates the legal corridor, giving specific problems. Viettel has a very large domestic and foreign market, helping businesses bring products to the market. The business community has ideas to solve the problem of creating a digital society.

"This cooperation will help Vietnam accelerate the process of national digital transformation," said Dung.

Viet Solutions is held annually with the goal of finding creative solutions to many social problems, contributing to the implementation of the national digital transformation strategy. After two seasons, nearly 600 projects have been submitted, and the total value of signed contracts reached VND20 billion (around $1 million).
